Our
Mission:
To provide innovative and culturally diverse learning
experiences and supports for children with disabilities,
children who are typically developing, and their families.
Our Programs:
We offer three main programs designed to get children
started on the path to successful, healthy, and happy
lives: The Developmental Day Center, the Community
Program, and the Child Mental Health Initiative. In each
of these programs, Learning Together provides
individualized services to meet the developmental,
educational, and social needs of each child, while also
providing support and training opportunities for families.
- Developmental
Day Center: The
Developmental Day Center provides an inclusive
center-based program for children from 18 months to six
years of age with, or at risk for, developmental
disabilities and for children typically developing. The
center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to
5:30 p.m. Average teacher to child ratio is 1:5. The
center has a five-star rating from the North Carolina
Division of Child Development and has earned
accrediation from NAEYC (National Association for the
Education of Young Children).
- Community
Program: The
Community program provides individualized educational
and therapy services as well as inclusive group learning
and enrichment activities to children birth to three
years of age with, or at risk for, developmental
disabilities. It also serves children ages three to five
years of age with preschool service. The Community
Program is an approved provider agency with Raleigh
Children's Developmental Services Agency, DHHS.
- Child Mental
Health Initiative: In
January 2002, Learning Together began the Child Mental
Health Initiative to provide comprehensive services to
children ages birth to five years who have demonstrated
serious social, emotional, behavioral and/or mental
health concerns that have jeopardized their child care,
family life, and future growth and development. In
addition, the Initiative also offers BEST Buddiez
playgroups for preschoolers to help them develop
important social skills. Click

The Initiative is currently funded by the Triangle
United Way and Wake County SmartStart, an organization
that ensures children are healthy and prepared for
success in school and in life. The Child Mental
Health Initiative has received full endorsement for
Community Support Child/Adolescent by the Wake County
Local Management Entity.
