Parent Communication About Neighborhood Incident

Attention Parents:

Please know that we take your child’s safety and well-being as the highest priority here at Learning Together. In addition to providing a high-quality educational setting, we pride ourselves on taking care of your child as if they were our own.

Unfortunately, today an incident happened across the street from Learning Together that your child may have been exposed to. Because of the ongoing investigation, we are not aware of all of the details. We do know that there was a shooting that happened at a house across from the Center’s parking lot. This act of violence was not directed at any of the children, families, or program employees of Learning Together.

Again, your child’s safety is of upmost importance to the entire staff of Learning Together. We will continue to work with the Raleigh Police Department through the ongoing investigation. We will communicate more information with parents as it becomes available.

Wake County Government has assigned a security officer to our location for as long as we deem necessary.  We appreciate the quick response of the Raleigh Police Department and the immediate and appropriate reactions of the Learning Together staff.

Thank you for trusting us with the safety and education of your child.

Sincerely,

Nell G. Barnes, Ed. D.
