Meet our Fall 2011 Volunteers

Learning Together's vision is creating a Community of Promise  - where children of all abilities are able to reach their full potential with the support of their family and community.  We would not be able to achieve our vision if it was not for the wonderful community that supports us.  A large portion of our supporters are volunteers. They selflessly give up their free time to make sure they are making a difference in a child's life.  Read on to find out more about our individual volunteers here this fall.

Who: Lynn Swanson

What: Development Intern

Where: Development Department - Every Thursday

Why: Lynn recently found some open time in her schedule over the last year, as her three children have become more independent. Not one to sit at home, Lynn signed up for the Microsoft Certification Specialist classes to bring her business and computer skills back up to speed. While taking classes, she came across the opportunity to help a local nonprofit and apply what she was learning in school. Lynn assists with the Development department's database, which tracks all contributions to the organization. She inputs new contributions, adds and updates accounts, and assists with pulling reports for the Development Director.

Who: Craig Bowers

What: Developmental Day Volunteer

Where: All Classrooms - Every other Thursday

Why: Craig came to Learning Together after volunteering with a group from his church, Hayes Barton Baptist Church.
