Learning Together Selected as Nonprofit Partner for Cisco Systems

Raleigh, NC—Learning Together is extremely honored to announce their selection as a Nonprofit Partner of Cisco Systems headquartered in Research Triangle Park.

“Excitement, energy, commitment and passion are the first few characteristics that I think of when we speak of our Cisco Volunteers,” said Nell Barnes, Executive Director at Learning Together. “We have been so fortunate to build a relationship with Cisco employees over the last several years. Being formally chosen as a Nonprofit Partner of Cisco brings a new level of inspiration to our programs and services, which directly impacts the young children being served at Learning Together.”

As a Nonprofit Partner of Cisco Systems, Learning Together will work closely with the RTP Cisco Civic Council and Community Relations team on individual and group volunteer opportunities, special events, fundraising drives, grant opportunities and more. The goal of the Cisco Civic Council is to increase awareness within local Cisco population of local community needs, assist with strategic deployment of Cisco assets in local communities, and provide community leadership and development opportunities to employees.

“It is a privilege to work for a company that supports the local community in so many ways,” states Eric vonHaam, Past Board President of Learning Together and Cisco employee. “I have seen the support and the passion grow over the last few years for Learning Together’s programs from co-workers in my department and I am honored to be able to share that now with the entire RTP campus.”

Learning Together and Cisco will kick off their new partnership in October at the RTP campus with a program for employees and a presentation by Tommy Freeman, Learning Together volunteer who is completing the entire Appalachian Trail this month as a fundraiser for Learning Together.
